LADIES OPEN DAY: GREENSOMES - MAY 15th, 2011.
33 couples played in our Open Competition. The weather was not at its kindest with unrelenting but luckily patchy rain. The course was in good condition with the greens staff out at 4 a.m. to rake and organise, with Jim Fairbairn out a little later to put in the Sponsor holes 'markers.
The Sunday date was a success too with an increase in numbers from previous years and the profit realised was just over a healthy £400. The Desk helpers and Starters dealt manfully [and womanfully] with the odd problem that turned up but all went well in the end!
Results were as follows:
1 Helena Menhininck & Marion Whiteford won the McCreadie Rosebowl with an excellent 69 [net]
2 Alex Glennie and Ellen McGibbon were runners up with 72 [net]
3 Roz McCulloch and Liz Neil - 73 [net]
Silver longest drive was won by Helena Menhininck
Bronze longest drive was won by Catherine Howat
Nearest the Pin 5th and 17th: Kate Sneddon and Alex Glennie.
